Privacy Policy

Colicine ("the App") is a personal casting notebook for iOS. This policy explains what information the App handles and how it is used.

Summary

Information stored on your device

The App saves casting plans on your device, including for example:

You can delete individual notes from the home list, clear all local data in Settings, or remove everything by uninstalling the App. Exported JSON backups are files you choose to save outside the App.

Information sent over the network

When you use Explore, Casting Lab, or Challenge, the App may contact TMDB to:

Those requests are made to provide App functionality. TMDB has its own terms and privacy practices. Colicine is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

Photo library access

If you add an optional headshot for a custom cast member, the App asks for photo library access so you can pick an image. Selected photos are saved locally with your casting note. Colicine does not upload those photos to our servers because we do not operate backend user storage for casting notes.

Export and sharing

If you export a JSON backup or share a casting card image, you choose where that file goes through the standard iOS share sheet. Colicine does not control what you do with exported files afterward.

Advertising

Colicine is free to use and is supported by advertising.

Advertising is delivered through Unity LevelPlay (ironSource) mediation and through partner networks that may include Google AdMob, Mintegral, Liftoff Monetize (Vungle), Unity Ads, InMobi, Chartboost, Digital Turbine (Fyber), and Moloco. The specific network that serves an ad can vary by request.

These partners operate their own SDKs. To request, select, and measure ads, they may collect or receive information such as:

Ad partners may use this information to serve ads, limit how often you see the same ad, detect fraud, and measure campaign performance. If you grant App Tracking Transparency permission, partners may also use that information to personalize ads across apps and websites. If you decline, you can still use the App; ads will still be shown, but they are less likely to be personalized.

Colicine itself does not sell your casting notes to advertisers. Notes stay on your device. Advertising SDKs do not need your casting plans, custom photos, or TMDB search history to show ads.

Tracking permission

On iOS, the App asks for App Tracking Transparency permission with the message: “This data is used to deliver personalized ads and improve your experience in the app.”

If you allow tracking, the App and advertising partners may access the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) to measure ads and, where permitted, to personalize them. If you do not allow tracking, IDFA is not available and the App falls back to non-personalized advertising and device-level identifiers such as IDFV.

You can change this later in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking, or by resetting your advertising identifier on the device.

Analytics related to advertising

To understand whether ads loaded and how the App is used, Colicine uses Firebase Analytics and Meta (Facebook) App Events. These tools may receive aggregated ad events such as impression, ad unit, creative identifier, and estimated revenue. They may also receive general usage events that help us keep the App working.

Firebase Crashlytics may collect crash logs to fix bugs. Firebase Remote Config may be used to adjust App behavior, including advertising-related settings, without requiring an App Store update. Firebase Cloud Messaging may be used to deliver optional notifications.

These services have their own privacy practices. You can review them here:

Children

Colicine is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Advertising in the App is configured as not intended for children under 13 (COPPA).

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the latest version.
