Help with Colicine — your personal casting notebook for iOS.

Getting started

• Open Explore or tap + on the home screen to pick a film.
• Start Casting Lab and follow the 5 steps to build a plan.
• Completed plans open in the compare view. In-progress plans continue where you left off.
• The same film can have multiple saved versions (v1, v2, v3, …).

Plan types

• Fan Recast — Replace roles with performers from TMDB search.
• Our Own Cast — Enter custom names and optionally add a local photo for each replacement.

Backup and sharing

• Go to Settings → Export & Backup to export all notes as JSON.
• From the home list or compare screen, you can share a casting card as an image.
• Local data is not synced to iCloud inside the App. Keep your JSON backup if you need a copy off-device.

Data and privacy

• Casting notes are stored on your device only.
• Settings → Clear Local Data permanently deletes all notes on that device.
• Uninstalling the App also removes local notes unless you exported a backup first.

Common questions

Why do I need the internet?

TMDB is used to browse films, load cast lists, search performers, and fetch posters and headshots. Saved plans can be read offline after they are stored locally.

Does Colicine play movies?

No. Colicine is for personal casting notes only. It does not stream or host video content.

Why are posters or headshots missing?

Images come from TMDB and may be unavailable for some titles or people. Custom cast photos are optional and stored locally when you add them.

What iOS version is required?

iOS 16.0 or later.

Report a problem

When you contact support, please include your device model, iOS version, what you were trying to do, and screenshots if possible. That helps us reproduce the issue faster.
